On Monday, 13th June, 2016, I reported at the NYSC camp in Akwa Ibom State.

Right there at the camp I resolved in my mind that I won't end my service year as a job seeker.

I probably thought of a gazillion different ways to profitably maximize my writing talent as a passive income channel and the idea of starting a professional business blog popped in.

Every effort to push it off so I could think more proved abortive. Since I couldn't, I decided to give it a chance to stick and I began to brainstorm on the most SEO-friendly name to give it.

Few months after I was posted to my place of primary assignment in a remote village, precisely on 21st September, 2016, I launched my long-awaited blog.

Despite working my ass off to raise money for the setup, I was visibly excited that my journey into becoming a millionaire had just began.

Before then I had already built a waiting following of 1500 on Twitter.

In appreciation, I called all my close and senior friends who have been supportive of my writing skills. I chatted up those who were not based in Nigeria.

I thought it was going to be all rosy, but no. It wasn't.

• I was spending N3,000 every week on transportation to either Eket or Uyo just to access power and full 3G.
• There were months my data subscription of 5GB would expire because I couldn't utilize it.
• I became a micer, never went to places that could put pressure on my budget.
• Some of my colleagues mocked me but I was hellbent on cracking this blogging code.

I managed to put up with this whole "nonsense" for a year until my service year was over before I moved to Lagos. Since then everything changed.

I want you to know that if I could do it despite living in a remote village, (pictured above) you too can also do it. Of course, 98% of you reading this now don't live in remote villages.

So? You have zero excuse.

In January 2019, this very blog that was started in a remote village generated FOREIGN direct income of over half a million naira, excluding AdSense and income from digital marketing services and we've been topping it up every month.
